Acupressure/Tuina
Although similar to some massage therapy techniques, acupressure and tuina focus on working along the acupuncture channels in the body. Massage therapy focuses on anatomical structures like muscles and joints whereas tuina is a focused, intense type of bodywork which works to balance energy in the body.
Acupressure is the use of fingers, thumbs or elbows on acupuncture points and channels to remove obstructions and encourage healthy movement within those channels. These techniques are often used with an acupuncture session.
